RESIDENTIAL SURVEYS

BUILDING SURVEY (formerly Structural Survey) This is a very detailed inspection.  It can be commissioned for any property but is principally recommended for buildings over a hundred years old, Listed buildings, properties that are constructed in an unusual manner or have had extensive alterations.  The survey will cover:

• Major and minor defects and what they could mean
• The possible cost of repairs
• Results of damp tests on walls
• Damage to timbers
• Technical information on the construction of the property and materials used
• Recommendations for any further specialist inspections.

HOMEBUYERS SURVEY AND VALUATION the survey most frequently undertaken for private buyers, it doesn’t detail every aspect of the property and only focuses on urgent matters needing attention.  It is not suitable for older properties.
